A&M EDM Ltd, an award-winning engineering solutions company based in Smethwick, recently welcomed Sir Charlie Mayfield, leader of the independent Keep Britain Working review, to its facility. The visit was part of the government’s focus on tackling health-related inactivity and fostering healthier, more inclusive workplaces.
Employer best practice
During the visit, Sir Charlie Mayfield and his delegation, including representatives from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), toured A&M operations. The company showcased its commitment to employee health and wellbeing through its participation in the Thrive at Work programme.
A&M has been a standout participant in the programme, achieving bronze-level certification and working towards silver, an impressive milestone in the manufacturing sector.
Phil Calcutt, marketing manager at A&M, said:
“Thrive at Work has been a catalyst in helping us understand the importance of wellbeing in motivating our workforce. We want to create the best conditions for our staff to thrive and contribute to the company’s success.”
