“Sandwell, especially Oldbury, is the perfect place for Grain & Frame due to its rich industrial heritage and skilled workforce”
Sector: Manufacturing – furniture
Established: 2019
Activities: Grain & Frame hand-makes hardwood furniture, supplying to high-profile commercial projects as well as individual customers.
Three things to know about Grain & Frame:
- Grain & Frame was established by Sam Moseley and Rhys York, two friends who were both born and bred in Sandwell.
- The company uses only sustainable solid wood and every piece of furniture is hand made in the UK.
- With Sam’s background in product design and engineering, the Grain & Frame attitude is “If you can draw it, we can make it”.
And a fun fact: Grain & Frame made headlines in 2021 when it raffled off one of its tables for charity. Why? The table had a knot of wood in it that was a comical, slightly not-safe-for-work shape. The raffle raised thousands of pounds for Orchid, a charity focused on helping people with testicular, prostate and penile cancers.
