The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is hosting a series of free online training sessions to help businesses understand the importance of neurodiversity in the workplace.
This initiative is part of WMCA’s commitment to improving employment opportunities for young people with neurodiverse conditions.
For businesses, embracing neurodiversity isn’t just about social responsibility it’s a strategic advantage. Neurodivergent individuals bring unique skills, perspectives and problem-solving abilities that can enhance creativity and innovation. However, many employers are unsure how to support neurodivergent staff effectively or may be unaware of the simple adjustments that can create an inclusive and productive work environment.
This fully funded training is designed to give employers the tools to implement inclusive recruitment. The sessions will explore:
- The language of neurodiversity: understanding key terms and concepts
- The business case for neurodivergent inclusion: why diversity benefits your organisation
- Myth busting and practical solutions: overcoming common misconceptions and learning how to recruit, support and retain neurodivergent employees
